About Brandwar

A real-time, pay-to-rank directory and gamified marketing arena.

The concept

Brandwar is a live leaderboard where brands buy their position instead of waiting for an algorithm to grant it. Every category is a public arena: the highest bid sits at #1, the next highest at #2, and anyone can take a spot by bidding at least $1 more than the brand above them. Ranking is instant, transparent and permanently contestable.

Each listing carries a logo, a 50-word pitch and a direct outbound link, so a top rank converts attention into real clicks from people already browsing that industry.

The battle format

Brands climb toward a $1,000 qualification threshold. Once four brands in a category are locked and ready, a 48-hour battle opens under its own code name — supporters bid on their favourite, the countdown runs, and the brand holding the most battle funds at zero is crowned. Winners sit in the G.O.A.T hall of fame for seven days before the category reopens.

Why it works

The mechanism is psychological, not technical. Competition creates urgency — a rank you hold today can be taken tomorrow. Status makes the board worth winning: #1 in a category is a public, verifiable claim. Transparency removes the guesswork of ad auctions; you can see exactly what the top spot costs. And public visibility turns the leaderboard itself into a discovery surface for high-intent buyers scanning a sector for the brands that are willing to put money behind their name.

Traffic you can see

Every outbound click from a listing is counted and displayed publicly on the card, so the value of a rank is measured in real traffic rather than promises.
